Competition Team

Competitive dance is a popular, widespread sport in which dancers competitively perform choreographed pieces in any of several permitted dance styles. These include ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, musical theatre, tap, and more. Dances are all performed before a common group of judges.

Each dance is then scored and compared to other dances in the same age, level, and genre. Each dance will also be given an ajudication award, which is the score.

Nancy Rubin Permorning Arts Elite and Mini Elite competition teams are chosen at the discretion of NRPA Teachers. 

 

           

 

Competition Dancers will follow the following schedule: Monday: 5PM - 7:30PM Elite Team Competition Practice Tuesday: 5PM - 6PM Mini Elite Team Technique (Tap & Jazz) Wednesday Mini Elite Team Ballet & Competition Practice Thursday: 6PM - 7PM Elite Team Ballet 7PM - 8 PM Elite Team Pointe

Performance and Competition Schedule January (Date TBD): Winter Showcase for all dancers February 28 - March 2: Showstoppers Greater Richmond Convention Center April 11 - 13: Elite Dance Challenge Greater Richmond Convention Center May 2 - 4: Startalent Productions Greater Richmond Convention Center June (Date TBD): Summer Showcase for all dancers
